That is one hell of a deal, MileMarker must be putting on the low price preassure. Warn is a top notch brand though. Go for it.

You would need to loop the cable back to the winching vehicle to get slightly more than 8,000 pounds. In the end, it dimishes the reach of the cable. IMHO.

Warn makes great stuff.

I have never been unable to extract a rig because it was an 8k Warn.

15000 pound winches are gross over kill, their line speed is not tremendously fast and they likely will not in any off the shelf bumper.

Not only that, they are substantially heavier too.

It is a great winch. Warn is sort of the premier winch comp. for 4x4s. It is rated at 8000lbs max line pull, plenty for a 4Runner in all but the most desperate situations. If you think you need one go for it, but please, learn how to safely use it first.

it's a great deal, but i'm not in the market for a winch right now. however, this might be one of those deals that are too good to pass by. i'd really like to regear and save some coin for lockers and/or a SAS.

I have done just fine with my M8000. I pulled a Jeep, a 92 Mini and uprighted a rolled 86 4Runner.

WTF you have small truck 8K is fine. Do you plan on pulling the Chevy out of the levy? I hear it's Dry.

4x4Lamm,
thankx man,, yea, when i do get one, id like to get that synthetic rope, and order some tapes or something, to lean the "safe" and "proper" way to use it.
sschaefer3,

That whole "You will be beheaded if you use wire rope" thing is over blown. If you use good judgement and maintain the cable, it will last forever. Before Warn started selling the syn rope they claimed that their winches could ONLY use wire rope because it acted as a heatsink for the drum. Well as soon as they got the syn line their opinions changed. Wire rope and a blanket is much cheaper then synthetic, just dont be dumb

Yeah, Warn wants a little too much for their rope. I got my rope from
HERE which was a lot cheaper.
