My sons 2001 4Runner limited has the VSC trac off lights and check engine light on and when they are on it idles badly and runs rough. I tried the recalibration trick but it didn't seem to remove the check engine light. What does make all the lights go off is disconnecting the battery but then after driving a while it all starts back. And suggestions

 

Those lights will come on anytime there is a Check Engine Light. You will need to get a Code Scanner on it and find out what system has failed. Some part stores will read the code for you but will not clear it out. I think Orielly and Auto Zone will read the codes for you for free. No way of telling what the lights on are for other then getting the codes read.

 

When was the last time the spark plugs, spark plug wires and ignition coils replaced?
