Question very good chance Im picking up 00 4 runner, 5 speed, etc. tomorrow morning!

Hey guys, there is a very good chance Im picking up a 2000 4runner in the morning and was just wondering what I need to look out for. Its a sweet truck but Im not going to keep it. I bought a car from this dealership and have had a few issues and they are allowing me to bring it back and use the full price that I paid as credit toward anything else on their lot. The 4 runner has a clear car fax, power everything including a sun roof, 5 speed V6, 90,000 etc. Its a nice truck! Im going to turn around and sell it and will probably loose my ass on it but this is the only way to get away from the Mitsubishi that I bought that is a total lemon. They have a lot of really nice cars but this Toyota is sweet! Does anyone know what the going price on a truck like this should be? I looked up the blue book and all but was just wondering how bad Im going to loose out if I try to resell it. Anyone interested???!!

There's no way to tell how much money you will lose unless we know what you paid for the 4Runner. 4Runner's have quite the resale value. The only problem is selling a 5-Speed can be difficult because usually people are looking for autos. The best way to sell 5-Speeds is to sell it online, because you will have a bigger audience and more of a chance of a someone looking for a manual. I was lucky to find my 'runner in a manual, but the guy selling it didn't even have one other person look at it in the month or so he was trying to sell it locally. ( at the time it was a 1996 with 120,000 miles in great condition for $5,000)

Just my $.02

Your first mistake was buying the Mitsubishi in the first place. But at least you are making up for it with the 4Runner.

Ditto Elton about driving it for a while. Odds are you won't want to give it up.

Good luck.

Why are you going to buy it, then get rid of it? Makes no sense to me.

If you are buying it from a dealer I can't imagine you'll be able to sell it for a profit anytime soon. The cards are in their favor and they won't let you take it if it's a loss to them. Best bet is to drive and enjoy it.
