Valve Cover crack

So I did something stupid tonight, got gas and was checking my oil when I noticed there was a bit of oil around the valve cover and cylinder head. So I got the bright idea well I'll just tighten those bolts down a bit and see if it makes a difference. Ended up cracking the front left corner of the valve cover, its a very small hair line crack right under the oil cap. How important is it that I replace the valve cover? Is it possible to seal the crack say with JB weld or something? I shouldn't have screwed with it but I did and now paying the price.

I included a pic just to show where i'm talking about (sorry its a bad picture I know!) Its a 2.7L 4x4 4runner too.

Thanks!
Kyle

Throughly clean the part with a solvent before you get under way.
