I noticed that this is a 60k mile maint item, granted I prob will have it done around 100k when the timing belt and waterpump get done, but I was just wondering what the stealership might charge for this while ive got it in for the other 2. Looks like my 100k mile maint work is gonna be costly

 

From what I have heard, don't bother with checking them.
That part of the valvetrain seldom wears except after many, many miles of service.
If you have been keeping up with your oil changes, just do the belt and water pump.

 

Thanks for the input, I definitely dont want to spend the dough on something that isnt needed. All My maint since i purchased it at 45k miles has been kept up perfectly so maybe it wont need an adjustment.

 

I just had mine done at a local machine shop. It was about $450. The dealer here quoted me $430 plus parts, meaning it would have ended up closer to $600.
