URD kit thermostat question

I took a pic of the inside of the 5VZFE t-stat housing: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...42310107YjfvBx

You can see there is a big cavity up from the t-stat, any air around the t-stat would float up into that cavity.

I'm going to follow the FSM and put the hole at 6:00 o-clock.

There was something I really liked about this URD t-stat and I noticed it when I was checking the openning and closing temp in a pan of water on the stove. I had both the URD (well Napa really) and the OEM t-stat both in the water together and when they were both fully open the URD t-stat opens up a bigger opening. So not only is it opening sooner 170 deg vs 180 deg, but when it is open it flows more coolant too!
