*UPDATE on my P0420*

first id like to thank those who gave input...but its not a o2 or cat....i had it right when i guessed exhaust leak that i heard the other day.

Just not the leak i wanted, i was hoping to need to just retighten the manifold well it turns out it has a cracked manifold.....

Hummm...lots of those 4 cyl manifolds seem to crack, must be a design flaw somewhere.

I hope the JB Weld works out for you. The Jeep 4.0 Inline 6 cyl is famous for cracked exhaust manifolds... mine cracked and I didnt want to replace it yet so I MIG Welded it. It re-cracked open within 500 miles. Welded it again and the same result happened. It is very hard to keep a crack from spreading once it developes on an exhaust manifold... just way too much heat and vibration going on there.

I hope this fix lasts for you! If not, it is a total PITA to replace yourself, but just the cost of an aftermarket, OEM style manifold with expansion welds so it wont crack again by itself is not nearly as expensive as having someone else do the labor.

Good Luck.

James

Probably should get the exhaust leak fixed first and see if that does it. If the factory manifold won't stay in one piece there's no way JB weld type stuff is going to fix it.
