Cool Ugly dash.... Got any part #'s?

So my gf bought a 2006 Taco a few weeks ago....I don't know if any of you know what I'm talking about, but she hates the look of the silver center console dash around the shifter and radio. I know the base model SR5's come with a black dash....Does anyone know of a part # that I could order from the dealership? She wants to take it apart and paint it....but I really don't wanna do that.....Any ideas?

If you go into the parts dept. of your local toyota stealership, tell them what vehicle, what part of the car, and they'll bring up a diagram (on computer) where you can choose what parts you want to order. At least that's how mine handles it.

Eeek, I can see that being pricey. Try a boneyard maybe...

Yes it is, but how many 06 Taco's are there going to be at a boneyard? I can't see the part costing over 50 bucks.

just remove it, prep it, then spray it with Krylon fusion paint.

You don't know Toyota then! All our parts are expensive!!! BTW, if you do get a p/n, post up and I'll see what I can get it for.

According to the 2005 R&R Parts List over at CustomTacos, the non-X-Runner center finish panel has part number 55412-04050.

... and a listed price of $88.34.

about 10 times more expensive than a can of plastic fusing paint (Krylon fusion) and the proper primer and sand paper.

But buying the OEM part will look cleaner and there's no chance in ruining the old part. $80 is not that bad.

I've never had any problem painting anything and if you just take your time and do it right, it will come out perfectly. Life is about taking chances with minimal investment, right?
