TRD locker

How hard would it be to install the TRD locker in my truck? I have the locker but what else will I need? Also will it even work? It came out of an 02' Extended cab v6. Are the gears the same or does it even matter? Any help would be appreciated.

Well the TRD locker came out of an 8" rear axle housing and yours should be an 8.4" housing, so you would need to get a new 8" rear axle plus all the wiring harnesses. The gears could be different, there are codes that should be listed on your door jam that can help you determine your gear ratio. You will have to get that gear code from the truck the locker came off of as well.
