(TRD) 7th injector fitment
I picked up a supercharger a few weeks ago and in the process of getting things together to slap it on.
My qeustion is I found a Trd 7th injector kit on craigslist and it lists that it will fit 00-04 tacoma and 99-02 4runner, will it fit and work properly on 97 4runner limited 4x4?? whats the difference? computer changes? i dont see it being that different. any help would be appreciated

There are some differences on the model years with components like the MAF etc even though they all have the 3.4 so I'd make sure it will work before dropping that kind of money.

I went ahead and emailed him. Im concerned he may be a little biased and steer me towards the urd kit instead, wich is fine. I know its a better kit.
Im only trying to save some cash by going with this craigslist find, and would be a nice alternative if it does in fact work on a 97.

good luck with your search but when it comes to properly fueling a boosted engine, hopes and wishes dont do it.. you may have to spend more money to make sure it will work but it wont be as much as replacing engine parts..

Do I come off like im hoping and wishing? Im looking into fuel mods PRIOR to boosting my motor.
Im asking a question about the TRD made 7th injector kit wich is made for a supercharged 5vzfe, wich is what I have. The discrepancy is the fitment between the years. Obviously if I wasnt worried about my motor exploding I would have put the s/c on the day it came back from being rebuilt.

I hear ya on that one! I searched quite a bit to find an answer, found zip. I know this cant be the first time this situation has come up. somebody in a pre 00 tacoma or pre 99 4-runner has to have had come across the trd 7th injector kit. should I call trd? or would that be like calling miss cleo for advice...

from what i know (err. heard/seen but have never done) the pre '99 4runner dont like the TRD kit because it is a little off fuel wise (due to elect. differances) and cant be adjusted. IMHO, i would suggest the URD kit to make things simple.. good luck man.
