I have read several threads about various noises coming from the A430F on my 98 4Runner. Mine could possibly fall into the cracked flywheel category or maybe the converter. It is a gurgling sound with a bit of a rattle in there. It is rhythmic in nature and is most obvious in reverse although present in all gears. The trans functions well with the exception of the noise. It had a clunk and hard shift going from park to reverse with a similar noise while in gear earlier this year but cleared up after a drain/fill and addition of Lucas transfix. Now the sound returned but the clunk and hard shift did not.

Thanks for any suggestions. Fluid level and condition is good. 215k miles with no major mechanical issues until now.
