1996 4Runner, 115K miles, Level-10 valve body kit, tranny cooler. 4Runner previous had an S/C and all fuel mods, but also had the valve body kit in during the entire time the S/C was on the truck. Flushed every 20-30K miles.

Tranny shifts fast and firm and I have no complaints. Except after a very hard stop, then things get interesting. After a hard stop, the tranny seems to get stuck between gears. Giving the truck some gas results in... well... nothing. It will just rev for a bit until everything kicks in and it shifts into first, usually very hard. Sometimes, just allowing the idle to run the tranny, it will slowly move the truck forward and quietly shift into gear (almost feels like the torque converter isn't getting enough movement into the tranny).

Fluids are full and clear.

Well I had the same problem with my 95 runner. I put up with it for a bit untill someone told me about this LUCAS TRANS. no slip stuff. Cost about $10.00, and you just add it to the trans. Do not worry about to much fluid just add it. I put it in, and about 1 day later, I had no problems at all, and it has beem 3 mounts now since I added it. Trust me, it works. A friend of mine needed a Tranny, and I told him about this stuff and he tried it, and that was last month, and all his slipping went away belive it or not. Give it a try, it will not hert nothing
