Trade in modded, or part out?

My dad is trading in his Taco for me to get a 05 Taco. We have some mods on the current Taco, and I dont know if I hsould part it out or just let it go whole...

...We have grille gaurd, taillight guards, step rails, intake, and various other stuff...

...would parting it out be worth the effort?

If you were to run a search you'd find that everytime this question comes up the answer is always overwhelmingly get it back to stock.

I know because I asked this same question about a year ago

Ditto.....you rarely find someone who will pay the value of the parts when purchasing a vehicle (esp the dealer).
Better to seel the stuff individually for maximum ROI.

But, I check Kbb, Vehix, autotrader, and they said my truck was worth $9500+mods.

strip it and sell it yourself

total price someone will pay you for mods = $0.00
total price parting it out = a number bigger then $0.00

Dealers always lowball. Their goal is maximum profit, so you are much better off selling it yourself...

Put it back to stock, sell off the parts, and sell the truck privately. You'll get alot more money out of it that way, easily. That way you have a few options, if you can't get money from selling off the parts to guys like the ones on this board. You could always offer them up to the guy who comes to buy you're truck.

I may be completely off here, but what about selling it on ebay? There are a ton of lifted and modded vehicles on their site. There seems to be a little more appreciation for modifications there than at a stealership and from what i've seen a lot of people get a pretty good price (IMO) for their modded vehicles. Just a thought.
