Yeah, JEEPS are damn stout rigs all'n'all, but, they do break down quite often. That said, I've been more place around the Mt. Hood National FOrest in a mostly stock Wrangler YJ than in any other rig... course I haven't had my Runner up there yet I'm loving my 89 Runner... but, I'll say this about toyota's, even the newtech 4.0L v-6 or the V-8 can't compare to the massive torque and power potential of the 4.0L I6 in Jeeps, it is hands down the best motor ever put in a 4x4, add a supercharger, and you've got a motor that'll blow the doors off a shivy 350, Hell, Toyota's original truck motor was a direct copy of the AMC 258 I6 in Jeeps... they still use that motor (4.2L Petrol, NA Diesel, and TD) in all of the foriegn market Cruisers... overall , TOyota's have got to be the best built 4x4's ever...Problems happen to EVERY truck out there, just seems like Toyota's have the fewest of these problems...Love my Toyota, just wish it had a little more juice than it came with...Like 4.0L I6 Juice... or better yet, 4.2L Turbo'd Bio Diesel Juice

Toyotas Suck? My A$$ they do!

I have a very diversified family when it comes to cars. My uncle will not drive anything but Chevys, my aunt will not drive anything but Fords, and my mom will not drive anything but Toyotas.

My point being. When I say Chevy and Fords SUCK I talk from experience. The problems you’re talking about are minor things.

When I was younger and rebellious (thought it was cool to ignore my parents) I owned both a VW and a JEEP. The Jeep was brand new when I got it and it was nothing but a POS. It was always in the shop for major things. I sold that thing FAST and took a huge lose on it just to be-ride of it. I still own the VW but right now it needs way to much work that it’s not worth fixing.

I currently own 4 high mileage (low mileage if you ask me, I consider them babies still) Toyotas and have virtually no problems out of them.

- My Camry has 134,*** miles on it and runs like the day it was new.
- My 1992 22RE pickup with over 300,000 miles just won’t die and we dog the crap out of it.
- My 1995 3.slow 4Runner has 235,*** miles and won’t die. We I got it the thing was leaking oil from every seal (the guy I got it from did not take care of it). Now that I got those seals fixed (few hundred $$$ and a couple of weekends of work) I expect to get at least 100,000 miles from it.

Just fix it and keep driving it. A factory service manual and a $200 craftsman tool set will go a loooong way in saving you time, money and stress.

Sorry, I just really love my Toyotas and needed to vent.

Speed kills… live forever… drive a Toyota.
