Towing With an S-10
I don't know if anyone will know this, but i got a 95' S-10 with the 4.3 vortec engine in it. Would it beable to tow a toyota pickup on a trailer? the pickup is in my sig. I believe they weight about 3,000 pounds, roughly. Does anyone know if these trucks can tow well?

I'm pretty sure it will. That is the most powerful engine ever put in an S-10.
My cousin just got a wrecked '95 extracab for $615, and fixed it for about $750, and has a perfectly good truck for tons less than I paid for my truck. The truck used to be a Culligan truck (his dad works for Culligan), and they used to haul several 150lb tanks in the bed, along with a small trailer with the same amount. In all I'd say it was easily over 2500lbs. The rear barely sagged.

i think i'm gonna bite the bullet and work towards a 4.3 swap this summer. then i could drive my truck everywhere to the trails
also as an added benefit, i could probably run 4.10 or other factory gears which are rather cheap and not sought after. i could also buy a factory locking diff from toyota for around 800 bucks this way, too

Yes, it will tow it, but i wouldnt go to far with that combo. And your toyota pickup on a trailer will be pushing 4-5K pounds, trailers are heavy.
It generally isnt a good idea to tow something that tall and heavy with such a small truck. It can be done, but make sure the trailer has electic brakes, and you take it REALLY easy. You dont want that load to start telling your s-10 where to go, instead of it being the other way arround.
Personally, unless it was just into town or to a really quick local trail, i woulndt do it. Its not just your life you would be risking, but others on the road. Remember, its not your driving ability you have to worry about, its the other morons on the road.
