I have a 1989 toyota 4x4 v6 and I would like to tow my friends 1989 toyota 4x4 4cyl out to vegas for a trip before hitting the sands of Syria. Can my truck pull his out without killing my transmission and sucking power so i cant get up a hill? Ive never towed before, so I was just wondering. Thanks guys!

I am not sure what the tow rating is on the 89, but my 92 has a tow rating of 3500 lbs and can tow it with no problem.

If you have never towed before dont do it. Not only are you past your trucks limits, you will be way beyond your own. Combine these two and you are asking for serious trouble. Just my $.02.
