Tow hook missing...

Tow hook missing...
Well, I just went out and loaded my Manik Grille guard into my 4Runner so I can take it to the shop and get it installed. As I was there I reran my foglight wires because the body shop basically just chicken-tied them whereever, so that they were out of the way. As I was doing that, I noticed that my tow hook and tie off point aren't there. The shop must have thrown them away. Now, I have never had to be towed before (knock on wood), but if in the event that I do and beings that I don't have a tow hook or a tie off point, is there a place that I can hook a tow strap to if I should need to be pulled out? I don't know too much about towing and whatnot, but is there a place strong enough up front that I can hook onto if I would need to be towed out? If so, where? Thanks for the help. :fireman:

Deffinatly ask the shop where your hook is. Its a really handy item sometimes. If they tossed it you can use one of two nice big holes where the tow hook used to live. Get a nice strong D-ring type recovery shackle to connect a strap should the need arise.

Yeah, I should get the hook back, but I have a feeling that they threw it out already. Also, if I can remember correctly, I believe that the hook was bent to hell in the accident. That is where the grille guard was mounted and I think that when the grille guard bent, it bent the hook as well. So the hook and tie off are probably destroyed anyways. I had the grille guard put on last night, so I can't put another one on. Well, I could, but it would be a pain in the
. I will have to see if I have any other holes down there on the frame that I can mount a hook of some sort onto it. But a question for you. When I buy the hook or tie off point, what should the Safe Working Load be? I mean what is a good amount to get? I want to get something that won't bend or break if the need shoudl arise. Thanks fellas! :fireman:
