TJM and Warn M8000

I'm looking into winches and noticed on the TJM website that you need some sort of mount to attach a winch to the bumper. Searching here on YT, I keeping reading that people are "bolting" on their M8000's. So which is it?

Do you have a link for that info? My M8000 just bolted into my TJM T15 without any additional hardware. There are some TJM bumpers made for the 100-series Land Cruiser's (T3 Classique Steel) that need an additional bracket for a winch...maybe that's what you saw.

Bighead, are you satisfied with the m8000, or do you wish you would've gotten the warn xd9000?

I also bolted my M8000 directly to the TJM bumper.

Even though you didn't ask me directly Dabadina... I am really impressed with the M8000's pulling power so far.

I agree with Elvota...my M8000 has been just fine for me and I have zero regrets getting it. In it's current configuration, my 4Runner weighs in at 4680 lbs and the M8000 has had no problems on some fairly difficult pulls.

Thanks for the info. I found a M8000 with roller fairlead for $517 shipped. I have read a lot of reviews from people who love their M8000's which has sold me on buying one.

I went with synthetic line, so I chose the hawse fairlead. I had heard the roller fairlead can allow syn line to get pinched and seize...

A roller fairlead can probably handle sever side angles better with less heat or friction.

Basically, I just liked the simplicity and lower profile of the hawse fairlead so I went that way.

I have a steel hawse fairlead with my M8000, running steel cable. It has worked fine for me, and I have successfully winched several odd side angle pulls (pulling my truck back onto 4 wheels)
