As most here already know, I originally ordered a ARB Sahara bumper back in October 5th of last year. Needless to say I finally cancelled that order recently because of the possibility of waiting another 2 or 3 months before it would arrive. I then got in touch with Mike over at Xtreme and placed a order with him for the TJM-15. The bumper finally arrived last Monday, but since I had another problem to fix first, the bumper install had to wait. Yesterday I got around to mounting the bumper and winch. The only problem I ran into was the width of this bumper is narrower than the ARB. The wider fiberglass fenders were made to fit with the ARB, so I needed to do some fabrication work. Yesterday afternoon I began by making a few templates, then started cutting out my pieces. Today I welded up the new side pieces, but just as I was about to add a few finishing touches to one of them I ran out of gas for my welder, so I'll have to wait to get my tanks refilled.

When are you going to get them things painted!? I thought primer was for 16 year old honda drivers? Though now that I think about it I'm guessing you wanted to wait to get the fenders matching the bumper before you painted them...?? Also, how did you get around not using the corner lights? Did you put city lights into the headlight housings? or who needs parking lights anyway?

 

Once I get my front bumper completed, I'll finish the work on my rear bumper, then when that project is done, I can finally start doing the fiberglass work. As for my marker lights, yea it's kinda illegal to drive without them, but most police won't bother you for it. I do have the lights already modified to fit, but until I get the final touches on the fenders, it's more of a pain to keep taking them off. I keep them in the truck, just in case though.

BTW, I'll be welding them on...... the bolt on one's with the gasket, don't appeal to me. Most likely, after I get my rear bumper done, I'll send both out to get colormatched powder coated.

Anyone need a spare set of bumper sides for a TJM-15, including gaskets?

I had a busy work week, so I only had today to work on my rig, the front bumper is almost done...... Just a few minor things to finish and then I can wire in my winch.

i really wanna weld the bumper sides (aka wings, aka bumper-ettes) like you have. thats the major thing i dislike about the TJM.

 

I'm interested in those bumper sides, too, if you're just getting rid of them.

RTdawgs, That's why I chose the ARB first..... I was trying to decide if I was just gonna modify the stock wings to fit, but the way they stuck out on the corners was bugging me, so I decided to clip the end of the bumper off and angled the sides. A buddy of mine was at our jobsite today with his Jeep, I drove up on top of his 35" MT/R, the bumper didn't interfere at all, too bad I didn't have my camera with me, it would have made a great shot!

actually I just quickly spray painted them, since I already have plans on getting them powdercoated to match my rig. I was quoted $75.00 for each bumper, so I may get it done. It was a long day Sunday, had a problem with the regulator on my mig welder and the gas wasn't flowing properly, so some of my welds got messed up. After solving that problem, the day was nearly up and rain was in the forecast, so I needed to quickly seal up my work. The satin black matched quite well with the original finish.
