Revo's

Two reasons,

1. No road noise that i am aware of yet. I've only had them three months though.

2. Warranty.

I would go with the Revos for anything less than a MT tire. I think they are the best on-road/off-road tire out there. They ride great on the interstate at 85mph and dig in the mud and snow almost like MTs. They have a ton of engineering involved and extremely sticky on wet pavement. Highway noise is low but more than the Michelins. I have put 13K on a set of 265/70/16 since 9/03. When I wear these out the only change will be moving to the 265/75/16. My brother put a set of 17s on his Mercedes ML 430 and all he does is highway/snow and he loves them. He said they perform much better than the standard Dunflops on highway and no comparison in snow.

I was in the same situation when looking for summer and mostly on road tires to use on my stock wheels, and ended up buying a set of these -



Dunlop RVXT

They claim this tire had good ride characteristics and long treadlife with decent off road capabilities, and it's cheaper than the Revo. I'm sure the Revos are great tires but everyone has them. I just wanted to try something different...

SO how do you like them so far? I'm sceptical when it comes to Dunlop, I have never had a good experience with Dunlops on cars or trucks.

Seriously, I just got them and need to get them mounted and put on the truck in the next couple of days. I was skeptical of Dunlop too but I've had good luck so far with my Dunlop R/T's that I've used all winter. I've had some good Dunlop tires, and some models I didn't like, just like every other brand it seems.

I'll post some pics when I get the new tires mounted on the truck...

I got my KO's I got my KO's!!!!

Road noise, they are much much noiser than the Michellen X Radial LT, also aren't nearly as smooth on highway, BUT their carcass rides much better than the michellens. Dry traction is a hair less on pavement, but WAAAAAAAAY more on off road surfaces like shell and sand.

Wet Traction is still unkown, but the KO's have BIG shoes to fill in that department - the X Radial LT's NEVER hydroplaned even in 2+" deep water at 65mph...Those things were amazing on the wet road.

I like my 235/75 r 15 KO's, I just wish I had sprung for 245/75 r 15s or larger...these 235s look very very weeny on my truck...LOL

The Revo's look good, but are they quiet and comfy with good on road handling compared to the competition. I dont mind spending some extra $ to have a tire I will be happy with.
I had the Long Trails stock on another truck and they are ok but I considered them a pure street tire just like the the Dunlops. Thin casing, shallow tread and easily scuffed sidewalls. As a street tire they are fine since the lighter weight translates into better street performance...not great for off-roading tho.

IMO, the BFG TA KO's are the most aggressive looking AT tire out. They look much more aggressive than the Revo.

The Revo looks like a beefed up street tire.

The BFG looks like a toned-down MT tire.

I think they pretty much drive that way too.

I wonder between the BFG Long Trails and the Revos, which would have more tread life? say with 95% street driving? if the Revos hold up as well as the long trails that'd be awesome

BFG Long Trails are crap!!!! Just like the Dunflops they come stock - they don't balance, they don't have good wet or dry traction and let's not even mention snow or ice here.
