Tire help (i know)

i need some advice on some new tires for my 97 runner stock 16s. my x-terrains (265/70/16) are horribly worn and it is time for some new shoes. most of my time is spent driving on road, but i do spend alot of time in vermont. i have a place down the backroads that gets really muddy and snowy. my x-terrains were great on road but had left something to be desired in the mud and snow.i have searched and read many posts about tires and here is what i got. i was thinking of the gy mt/r but after research tread wear and on road performance don't seem to be up to par. i am interested in toyos. are there new sizes coming out for the mt? anyone know how they do on road/tread wear? can i upsize to a 265/75/16 without any problems (stock suspension)? i've heard good things about the bfg at.
i miss my michelin xc ats.
if anyone else can make any other suggestions i would really appreciate it.
thanks for putting up with the same old question.

Bridgestone Revos

Go with the Revos, they not only have a 50,000 mile warranty, they handle great on the highway and DIG off road. I have had my truck places I shouldnt with these and have not even had to lock my hubs where my old tires would have left me spinning away! Im very satisfied with them and they are one of the best looking AT tires available if you care about that type of thing!

Dueler ATs (non Revos), or if you want something more aggressive - Dueler MTs, probably the MT with best road manners.

On a side note - I love my Destination MTs, but the jury is still out on treadwear.

Revos sound like a good choice for you then. I have BFG AT KOs tho, I just like the look, they perform good in all condition except in mud(so i've heard, dont do much mudding)

Another vote for BFG AT KO's. Awesome tire.

As for your upsize question, the only slight concern is a very minimal loss in acceleration. I had 4.10's with an upsized 265/75/16 and changed my gear ratio to 4.30; the difference was noticeable, so I figure you will notice going the "other direction."

Bridgestone Dueler AT (non-Revo) or Dueler MT. If you go to Jacksons tire review you can see I have owned Quite a few tires and I stick w/ BFG or Bridgestone. Have you seen the Dayton Timberline M/T? We have sold quite a few of them w/ great results.
They are easy on the wallet also.

I am pretty much in the same boat. Right now I'm considering Dueler(Revos or non), BFG AT KO's, or Toyo Open Country AT.

So some are saying Dueler/Revos and some are saying Dueler/non-Revos. From anyone with knowledge of both, what's the difference?

my bfg at kos never let me down in the mud... they do cake up though like any all terrain would but i never had a problem with getting them spinning and not having traction....

the revos and the 689s are great......
