Question A Thump Sounds

I have a 99 4Runner SR5 4x4 V6 just over 100K. It runs great. Knock on wood. There's this thump sounds really bothering me. When I applied my brakes to a complete stop, say at a stop lights. Right after I released my brakes and right before I stepped on the gas "Thump" I can almost feels it. I can see my automatic transmission stick jerked a little in synchronized with the thump sounds. It doesn't happen everytime but most of the time. Did anybody came across this problem? Is this common? or Should I be worry? Thanks in advance...

Sounds like the typical symptoms of the driveline needing greased. Search on here for "driveline thump," "driveline grease," etc, and see what you come up with. If you can't find anything, post back and we'll give you more info.

Thanks... I have been looking around to find where the driveline is. could you tell me where's the "Driveline" so I can grease them? or do I have to get an auto-mechanic to do the job?

brett,

it is exceedingly easy. buy a grease gun and the proper lube (look in the back of your owner's manual), a flexible grease gun hose, and the right nipple. there are several zerk fittings that you just plug that grease gun into and pump away.

about 8-10 pumps is fine.

driveline = driveshaft
