Thule Storage

I got this pick off one of the other threads. This is an example of what I was shopping for a few months ago, but me and my wife came to the conclusion these are really geared towards storage for ski equipment or golf clubs. What we are looking for is something that is Thule or Thule quality to be attached to the room, but also some what easily removable for I would like to still park in my garage, that can hold a variety of things. None of these things will be skis or golf clubs. It could be luggage, childrens toys, misc stuff. But other than the cloth ones that don't interest me for I am planning to use this in all weather conditions, I need something durable and can protect what it is holding.

Well I personally have the Thule 845 Escape roof bag. Although it's cloth I can tell you from experience it is very weather proof. It's made of really durable cordura, it holds 15 cubic feet of gear, has internal mesh pockets for smaller items, easily removable and very durable.

This wasn't my first choice. I initially wanted a hard case but like you I wanted to be able to park in my garage. This bag is awesome in my opinion. I can mount it and remove it in a matter of seconds.

I recently went on a weekend trip and had the roof bag loaded up with gear mounted to my Yakima roof rack . The whole weekend trip it poured rain down on us. I'm not talking just drizzle, I mean thunderstorms! The bag was totally dry and my gear was perfectly fine.

Hope my input helps, good luck with your search.

I have the Thule Evolution 1600 and does exactly what you are looking for. The Evolution boxes come in 3 or 4 sizes. The smallest one is really only good for skis and golf clubs, but the others store a lot of gear. It does a good job of keeping things protected when the weather is less than perfect. It is not waterproof, but it will keep your gear from getting soaked.
