Has anybody put a third row in their 4runner? I have a 92 and we are expecting another baby and would like to put in a third row for when we are out in the bush. I have seen the one that performance autoparts used to sell but they don't carry it anymore. Does anybody know if an old bench seat out of a 70's or early 80's pick up work? Has anybody tried this?

Im sure it could be done...bolt the seat down, bolt on the seatbelts...it would be a PITA to take out, not to mention less storage space.

Wow. That is a bit pricey for me. I bet there is something that I can modify from the junkyard. Maybe a cut down school bus seat or a third row seat from a Mini-Van. It would have to be removeable, though...Hmmm....

 

I am sure you can find something in the junkyard and make it work but there is no way to tell how that would hold up in an accident.

 

they came as a factory option (first 4runner i looked at was a 94 and had them in the back) have also seen them for 3rd gens too
