Exclamation Temp Guage issue

I have a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 3.4L V6. It's temp gauge started going haywire, mostly with gas acceleration. It moves upwards, and has gotten all the way past the outlines on the gauge. It will also just move a little bit with gas acceleration, depending on how it feels that day! Does it sometimes, and sometimes it works fine. Replaced the thermostat (which was stuck), but still having the gauge issue. Already checked the sensors. Any thoughts?

Is your coolant boiling over? Is your fan clutch working properly? Mud in the radiator restricting airflow? Plugged radiator core? Many options......and they've all been covered here many times....search is your friend.

I did a search but no one here has had the specific problem (and everything they tried has already been attempted here). Checked all the coolant system issues that might be causing it. All systems are good. Even did a system flush when the thermostat was replaced. Nothing is over heating. I think it may be electrical but am not sure where to start.

I've seen the coolant sensor probe get caked with minerals causing it to do strange things. You might pull the sensor (rear of block on driver side) and check the probe...wire brush off any corrosion. All your ground wires clean and tight.

Thanks for posting up the fix. The pesky ground wire strikes again.
