Tail light question

you will have to splice the tail lamp harness together for it to work. its not a big deal and took me about 20 mins. the difference is in the sockets that the bulbs sit in. the sockets for the 99 will have to be removed and replaced with the sockets from the 02.

The difference between the old and new harness is in the reverse bulb socket. The old style tail light used a large 7440 bulb for the reverse light, while the new tail light uses a smaller 921 bulb.
If you can get a hold of a 2001-2002 tail light wiring harness, then there is NO cutting or splicing needed. The socket part of the wiring harness that holds the bulbs will twist into place into the tail light, and at the other end, the connectors will mate properly.
The only time cutting and splicing would be needed is if you cannot get a hold of the newer 2001-2002 tail light wiring harness and you have to splice in a 921 bulb socket with pigtails onto your original older style wiring harness.
