Hey dude, Ive got a '95 Runner and a '95 Tacoma love both of them. As for the Tacoma ive got the 2.7 but its still a great motor and there are lots of mods you can do to this motor. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. Another great site for the Tacoma is www.customtacos.com you may want to check it out if you havent already done so. Good luck on your purchase!

If you can find one that has been well taken care of (or a new one), I think you will be very pleased. I recently had my 90K check-up on my '98 xcab V6 (new timing belt, etc), and it passed with flying colors. The tech said everything was superb.

I am only 500 miles shy of 100K (and 6 years on Sept 17), and it still runs like when I bought it.

I have added a coupla thousand pounds to mine (vs. stock) and increased the profile (lift, taller tires, roof rack) and I get about 16-17 mpg and 17-18 mpg on the highway, but usually 17.

I used to get as good as 21 mpg (but usually 18-20) when stock.

If you get one, I highly recommend looking for one that has the factory rear locker. If you can find manual hubs, that's a plus too, but not as important as the locker.

Price - I'm not sure. Go to www.kbb.com to get a good idea. They hold their value really well, so they are probably not as depreciated as you might expect.

i get 20+mpg mostly around town, some highway, some offroad.

probably 23-25 cruisin on the highway in 5th.

this is with the 32s, vs stock 225/75R15s

i have the 2.7 though, not a v6. if i wanted power though id get a truck with a v8.

with 28,000 miles, i paid about $12000 for mine, a little over a year ago. like bajataco said, definatly try and find one with a locker!! manual hubs are good too.
