Off idle Stumble on 2000 3.4 4runner
#1
My 4runner has 51000 on it, for the last 5000 miles everytime I press give it gas, whether I am starting off or already moving it hesitates. The harder and faster I push the pedal down, the worst it is, its almost like it shuts off and then 1-2seconds later it goes. Its a major hesitation and it gets really annoying. I have also had a lot of pinging when its hot out. What could this be, all I have is a K&N drop in filter and Bosch platinum 4's. Any help would be great.

Buy an Amsoil #115
Remove the K&N, sell it on ebay.
Clean the MAFS
Perform a tune-up and ditch the Bosch's
If that does not work, I would take it to the dealer and have it serviced under the 5/60 powertrain warranty.
(You may want to go to the dealer first since it is under warranty, but I listed what I would do - I am not sure of your mechanical aptitude)
What have you done in the last 5000 miles? Anything?

Problem
First I would run a can of BG44K fuel injection cleaner through it. You could also take it to the dealership for a complete EFI flush, runs about $75 here at our dealership. Sounds like an injector problem or possibly the fuel filter has water in it maybe.

What type of plugs should I buy, where can I buy the Amsoil #115 and how much are they?? Why is the Amsoil filter better than the K&N? I have put fuel injector cleaner and cleaned the MAF already and still have the problem. Thanks for the help.

I can bet your MAF is dirty because of it. Gauze air filters use oil that will coat the platinum wires on your maf witch will prevent it from sending the right voltage to the ECU. Very apparent at low rpm's.
remove it and clean it with some aerosol electrical cleaner
