I'm thinking about upgrading from my 95 and two things are mandatory. 5 speed trans and e locker. I know what I'm looking for in a 4runner, but I'm thinking a tacoma might be an option.

So the question is were tacomas offered with e-locker starting with 96 like 4runners? I need some schooling on tacoma stuff since this is a new idea.

My '03 Taco had a factory locker. I think that all the TRD models were factory locked. I don't know when they started this though.

They Started the TRD option with the e locker in '98

You have a much better chance of scoring a locked 5 speed Tacoma vs. a locked 5 spd. 4Runner.

So is it true all 98+ TRD Tacos have lockers?

The search is definitely on. The more I think about going back to a truck, the more I like the idea. Anyone want a nice 2Gen 4runner???
