So the other day i tried to close my tailgate, and it wouldnt close all the way. The little locking mechanisms on the sides of the tailgate that click into place on the brackets on the truck bed wouldnt go in when trying to close the tailgate. The only way they would go in is if i pulled the handle for the tailgate first then closed it with the handle still pulled. I dont recall ever having to do it like this before, and i know its not really that big of an issue, but i like being able to close the tailgate without having to pull the handle. Did i accidentally lock something or is their a way to fix this? I know its not like this on my coworkers tundra.

Mine can be a little difficult at times. Try spraying both sides of the tailgate with a lubricant like silcone spray while working the handle up and down. It will probably help.

 

yea ill give that a try again...probably tomorrow because its cold outside right now lol. Ill also take off the panel on the back and look around for any issues.
