Taco Overheating?

Hey All,

Had a quick question on my Taco. Lately, she seems like she's been running hot. The temp gauge runs just about 3/4 of the way up the gauge. I replaced the thermostat and it seemed to work for about a week, then it started getting hot again. I bought a thermometer and took a reading of the coolant after she was warm and got a reading of 197F. Does that seem normal or no? Is it possible for a thermostat to go out in a weeks time? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

No, that is running a bit hot. It is not always the thermostat causing an overheat condition. I assume you have flushed the coolant already. You might also inspect the inside of the radiator for deposists (if you see some you might need to go to a radiator shop to have it professionally cleaned). It can also be a water pump but having a worn impeller is more rare.
