Anybody own a Toyota Tacoma? If so, how do you like it? Thinkin about buying one and was wondering what other people thought of 'em.

I got mine about 2 weeks ago and I love it so far. I had a 88 toyota pickup that was automatic till about 1998 then got a car. Well I am back to the pickup now. This is the 2002 I got.

I really like mine. Mine's not as nice (or new) as Taco02's but I love it. I get about 23-24 mpg on the highway with the 2.7- 5spd combo. They are great trucks. Only drawback is they ride a little rough but what can you expect from a short wheelbase truck. The extended cabs probably ride a little better than mine.

Got mine in '99 and I love it. Got 92K on it so far with no problems to speak of (had to have MAF sensor replaced but it was under warranty). I get 18-20 mpg typically. The TRD package gives you a little more lift and a tighter suspension. You can check my sig. for the specifics of my ride.

I have the 3.4 v6 and get 19mpg on the highway. The sticker says it should get 17 in town but I haven't had a chance to check that yet.

i have a 98 tacoma standard cab i love it

I would definetly spend the extra few thou and get the extended cab though!!!!!!

It would be worth it, teh draw back to a standard cab is that you can't hual more than yourself and maybe two people. There isn't enough room to really keep anything upfront, i.e. boxes for subwoofers or any type of tools unless you get a tool box for the bed.

I just got mine about a month ago and love it so far. The only problem I have is I wanna keep spending money on "extras" for it.

Last fill up I recorded 18.5 mpg.

I love mine. I have had it almost a year with no complaints whatsoever. This is the best vehicle that I have ever owned.

20 months and 35K miles and still love it! Lot's of options if you want to tinker, just follow this forum and hold onto your wallet! I have the bucket seats, not the most comfortable seats for longer drives. I may attempt the cilica seat swap in the future.

I had a 98 Limited TRD, V6, 4x4, yada yada yada. It was a great truck, however, it was an Auto. I just hate Auto's. The ex-cab was next to worthless. If you want to be like Saddam and torture people, put them in the extra cab for a trip longer than 30 minutes.

My only complaints: Automatic, Ex-cab space, water pump was leaking at 29K miles (replaced under warranty).

Bottom Line: Unstoppable off-road with the locker, an awesome truck. Just make sure its exactly what you want. Oh yeah, resale is awesome too. Bought it for $18K and sold it for $17,200 just under 2 years later. Try that with a GM!

2002 Double Cab 3.4L V6

I love what it does for me, TOYOTA!

I actually have not had any complaints with my backseat passengers and I'm loving all the space I have.

I've had mine about 17 months with 32K miles on it. My roommate has a Nissan Frontier and he openly admits how much cooler mine is

Out of my tank I can usually get 300 - 340 miles.

I'm anxiously waiting out the last few thousand miles so I can start doing some mods that would otherwise void my warranty

Yea, i like the fact that the resale value is much higher than any other rig out there. im curoius what i could get for a 91 Reg. cab, 4x4 with Wild country RVT Trac. tires, truck box, good condition, 196K. Just wondering what the resale value would be. Thanks.
