Tach jumping

hey now!
I need input on a wierd thing i saw on the way to work
I was cruisin on the freeway doin 75 and the tach around 3000 when i look down and it jumps up about 400 like a tick it did it a couple times and I was wondering if it was like a current spike or something. There was no increase in engine rev. it hasn't done it again so far ..but it gives me reason for concern if it does again!
any help or experience appreciated

Mine did that for a few days after I drowned the thing in a mud bog, it just went away after a while. I wouldn't worry too much.

tach jump cause = radar station for me

Whenever I drive near a particular radar dome (think big giant golf ball) my tach jumps when the beam swings through the cab. (about every 30 seconds) It is most noteable when I am about even with the equator of the dome. Makes me feel sorry for the nearby homeowners getting microwaved each sweep of the radar.

mine acts funny in wet weather sometimes. i think i have a wiring problem with the dash lights, as i've had them blink out with the tach for a few seconds until i slap my dash and they'll come back on(i'm thinking a bad contact)

my tach will also sometimes read an exponentially higher number than it really is(i'll be around 2000rpm and it'll read something like 6500), usually giving the dash a good slap solves that one as well. no idea what's causing that, though
