Just making sure when I take my 98runner in for auto trans, fluid change and transfer case, differential fluid change at a non-dealer place that I don't need toyota brand fluids. Also, I've heard they just clean trans filter not replace, correct?

 

It all depends on which "non-dealer" place you go. Some might replace the filter and charge you for it, some might clean the filter and add crappy fluids, other will clean the filter and add good fluids, it all depends. Your best bet would be to go ask the person and if you don't like what you hear just go out and buy the parts and lubricants yourself.
