suspension diagnosis. am i in the ball park?

Didnt really start noticing this until i was in another 4runner for comparasion.

-137,000 miles on original shocks.
-Butt is sagging a little bit.
-Mild bumps are jarring.
-Rear end shutters like hell when i hit a bump on the high way.

Is it just bad shocks? do i have to replace my springs too?
I would love to get the SS 1.2 kit but i dont have the $ right now. I can get a good deal on some bilstien HDs (stock height).

Thanks in advance for your input.

From my experience, the rough ride comes from the springs being sacked out & allowing the suspension to bounce off the bumpstops on compression. Bottom line is you need both springs & shocks to fix the problem.

Good luck,

The two are componding each others problems. The sagging springs are putting the worn out shocks closer to their fully compressed state. So the bump stop and your shocks are bottoming out when you hit bumps. Replace both of them.

bummer... i was hoping just the shocks would get it fixed for now... if i have to buy springs as well, that puts me closer to the price of the sonoran lift kit...
