No pictures, sorry, but I'm pretty sure a 4th gen visor won't fit a 3rd gen without some kinda cutting of the visor. I think the visor extensions got put on 4Runners for 01+, if that helps at all.

Can I retrofit this '01 sun visor w/ extension onto a '98? Any additional parts that I should get in addition to the sun visor itself?

Thanks.

I "discovered" the extention for the 3rd gen (with garage transmitter) when i stared reading up on the stuff for my 3rd gen on this board.

Now I really want one because the Tx sun is a PITA.

I didn't even know the 3rd gen had them. mine doesn't, but maybe the fu-fu limited were the ones that come with them. I guess it is the later 3rd's that had them.

Yea, it looks like they were added in 01.

These visors are expensive. I know I prices one because I wanted a lighted mirror for the passenger side. Can you believe 96-98 limited's don't have a lighted vanity mirror?

Anyway, they were close to $200 each if I remember, and then a lot of wiring to do.

Thanks for the pic. Yea, It came on the 01/02 models. Not sure about the vanity lights on the mirror. The wiring does not scare me i tore my car up so many times.... plus it will give me an opportunity to hardwire my radar detector.

Now i just need to find a set of those in grey at a decent price ........

Sure. Well, if your going to be putting those in, you might consider doing my footwell light upgrade. You need to pull the headliner down a bit to do it anyway.

I guess I'll have to snap a photo after work tonight to prove it. This is in my '98 SR5.
