I know this has been discussed here soo many times and I have read most of the posts, however I am having a hard time finding anyone who may have done stock installation of suspension.
my 02 Runner SE needs new springs and shocks. I have already purchased the Tokico TrekMaster 3564 and 3536 for the front and back, now I am looking for the coils springs.
Can someone suggest any coils that will work with this set up?

This Runner is used for street driving only.

but technically no stock for stock a 1998 and a 2002 DO NOT share the same springs, but will except the same upgrade springs. I've got a full spread sheet that i put together when i was researching for my 2000. If i get a chance later, i'll upload it and post a link.

I have a full set of springs pulled from my 2002 4runner 4x4 SR5 at 44,562 miles.
The springs are fine, I pulled them for a OME 881/906 2.5" lift. ($110 shipped to COTUS)

I would recommend the OME 881/906 setup if you would like a 2.5" lift, I'm not sure if it would work with your shocks and you would have to get an alignment done. A full set of OME springs is about $300 + shipping.

I am actually looking to replace my springs with OME. how does the ride feel with your new set-up?
does it feel better than with stock set-up?
the reason I ask is because I've read different opinions about OME springs.

OME does make a "stock replacement" spring, The 880, Idk about the rear though, But im sure they gotta make those too..

I like the ride of the 881/906 combo, it is firmer than the stock suspention giving you greater control. It absorbs the big bumps well, but I think you can feel more of the smaller stuff.

Firmer does not always equal better handling or greater control, although in this case, it might be true. But just throwing that out there.

Also, the 881/906 lifts the vehicle, raising the COG, which makes the "better handling" a moot point, IMO.

Personally, if I were NEVER going to take my rig off-road, I'd just get stock springs with Bilstein shocks.

I have the OME setup on my 02 and i love it. sklos stated it nicely. My coils and shocks were shot. It was like a new 4runner after i installed it all. It would be a great choice and it did give it a better stance.

cackalak, I was not looking for a lift but it seems OME is my only option. I want a set-up that will give me more of a car ride and feel.
I have an 02 2wd Sequoia and let me tell you... it rides like freakin' car! I love the ride on the 02 Sequoia. I want a set-up similar to the sequoia for my Runner. I already have Trekmaster shocks, now I have to shop for the Springs.
I definately don't want stock springs, I don't want to do this again.

What type of a car? Sport tuned or boat?
Big difference since one is firm and the other...well a boat.
Im assuming a boat since you are comparing the sequoia.
Do not get 881's. Opt for 880 or 99 replacement springs. Rear 906 or 99 replacement springs.

Why not 881s? Mine have performed flawless for tens of thousands of miles, and many on this board have proven that they pair well to 906s (despite my preference for 890s).

Read the OP's posts. Everyone uses different variations of OME springs based on their needs. I too have always used OME's.
Only for his application I wouldnt suggest the 881's. He said he does not want any lift and would like his 4Runner, which is built on a trucks frame, to ride like a car or like a stock sequoia. So...choose the 99 springs in the front and throw some 906's or 99's in the rear.

I agree with not recommending 881's. But I'd even go further and say why even suggest 99's? IIRC, there is not spring rate difference between 99's and other years. The only thing 99's do is lift the ride 1" or so. For this guy's needs, I'd say 01-02 springs.

I still say OEM springs and Bilstein shocks. Shocks will make the biggest difference. Also, OEM, OME, etc.---they all will sag/wear out eventually and will need replacement. If the OEM springs gave you 100k miles of good service, get another set for another 100k miles. They should last you longer though, since you're not off-roading, either.
