Stock Steering Stabilizer Recommendations

My high mileage (228,000) 91 Runner needs a new steering stabilizer. I believe that it has a Monroe on it right now (it's so thrashed that I can't really tell). It's my daily driver with some moderate weekend off roading. Which brand should I get? KYB, Monroe,?????

I have a Procomp ES2000 that works well except it was to stiff in the winter and I had to put the stock one back on.

I like my Old Man Emu (OME) steering stabilizer. Very good for over-sized tires.

I second the OME. In the Jeeps we use the SD40 model, not sure what the 4Runners use but it is a quality piece. Check out the tech section, there was a good writeup on it.

I have 33's on and I run the procomp as well. Super cheap and it does the trick. I really doubt you will notice the difference between OME/Procomp/Etc.

But any of those compared to a worn out stock unit is pretty big difference

Exclamation I have a "Trail Boss" OEM replacement you can have...

I replaced my stock stabilizer with a "Trail Boss" that was a direct replacement. I put about 10,000 miles on it before I got a SWEEET deal on a new Rancho RS5000 kit. You can have the trail boss if you want it, It was like $60 at Car Quest as a special order. It’s as big around as my Rancho, I put a new blue boot on it also, the tube itself is white. The nice thing about it is it’s a direct replacement, probably built by Procomp or Heckthorn. It’s yours if you pay shipping... Email me at Mbernazzoli@hotmail.com. It’s off of my 88 IFS so it should fit up to 95 I think. Matt Oh put stabilizer or something in the subject line...First Come Fist Serve!
