starting problems

i have a o1 tacoma and i am having trouble with my truck starting. it will start for a second and die. if i leave the key in the on position for 45 - 60 seconds it will start just fine. after it starts it runs perfect, its just getting it started. if you have any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated

It may be *pending* a code, meaning the ECU is getting errors but it's waiting until it gets those errors X times before the light kicks on.

An OBD II reader will pick up pending codes.

Fuel Injection Relay - Definately worth checking. Bad relay is often a no-start at all too.

Do you have an alarm? I had a problem like that on my 4Runner and it turned out to be my alarm. It was all messed up. I didn't even have the remote or anything.

Just a thought.
