Hey folks,
I've just read through a few of the Starter contact threads, and was wondering if any of you have had to replace a starter or do the contacts 3 times within the last 7 years???
The first 2 times, I had the complete starter replaced, as I was a total newb, and didn't know about this forum then. Now, I'm having another issue! When I turn the key, the starter makes a repetitive ticking sound, until I turn the key back off???
Now, I know these trucks are known for these issues, but 3 times in less than 7 years?? Another thing I should add, is my truck has a remote start on it, which isn't factory installed. Can this be the source of my starter issues? The mechanic that did my 2 starter replacements, told me that remote starting systems were a killer on starters.....is that true??
Any help would be appreciated....
