Sport King A/T

Anyone used any Sport King A/T tires? What is your opinion of them? They look a lot like the BFG TA KO, except a lot cheaper.

no but there is another type...

I havent heard of that one yet, there is one called the Sidewinder AT you can buy them on Ebay for like $300 a set shipped. I bought a set of them for my ex's 1997 Cherokee in a 235/75/15 and they were great for the price! Here is a HELL of a deal on a set of 31s http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...939379003&rd=1

I had a set (33x12.5) a few years back on my 93. For an all terrain, they do fine. They grip ok and wear excellent (hard compound) and aren't noisy at all. They do screach like mad though when they're spun on pavement but that's also due to the hard compound they use. If I remember correctly, I got the 33x12.5 for $99 each. Hella cheap!

If you don't wheel all that much and you mostly drive on the street, I don't think you'll regret em.

I local tire shop has them for $95.99 a tire for 265/70/17. They said they are made by BFG. Don't know?? The tread pattern looks a lot like the BFG TA/KO. For that price, even if they do wear a little faster, it would not be a bad deal. I just don't want to sacrifice too much performance.

My exGF had them on her '94 Toy PU and they were a decent tire, very good in the snow but they didn't resist hydroplaning very well, still a good tire for the cheap price and from my understanding is they are made by BFG.

The Sport King AT tread is used on several different brand tires (RegulTrailblazer At, American Prospector AT, Chapparal AT, and Cavalier At). As far as treadwear, They are an excellent tire. I have noticed that they tend to be a little noisey after they are worn a little.
BTW- I think they are built by Uniroyal (Michelin) for what its worth.

ya, they're just a cheaper bfg a/t. I believe they only have single ply sidewalls.

I am looking at a set myself, i have sold them before when i worked at a tire store. I'm lookin at 360 for a set of 32's w/ tax. closest other tire is the mastercraft durango a/t and my previous employer seems to be the only place selling those they have a much more open tread design better for off road and thats what i want. so i might look a little more. i also think the sport kings hydroplane a little easy.

They are made by BFG. They're a good tire for the price and wear really good too. I'd buy a set. You can't go wrong with a BFG tire in my opinion.

I can confirm that they are made by BF goodwrench and they have the exact same compound as the bfg only difference is the tread pattern and brand lettering of course. I've had em for about 18 months and love em. I got em at America's tire in milipitas $490 for the set OTD (installed, mounted/balanced) + free rotations for life. Excellent grip on/off the road especially in the rain.
