Speedy's Satoshi Grille Solution
I finally finished up the Satoshi grille. It was quite a chore but does look nice on the vehicle. Here's a quick write-up on my solution. I read up on other people's implementations and tried to take key elements from each and add my own engineering to make it as durable and modular as possible. This design should be pretty much bullet proof and allow for easy touching up in the future should that ever be necessary.

It took me about 16 hours of actual work time (most of which is sanding). Some of that was waiting on primer and paint to dry. Due to weather (cold or rain) it took me about 3 weeks to complete as I couldn't paint on bad days. I'd just work on it a little at a time, a couple of hours a night doing what I could. In the end it worked out better as I didn't rush on any particular part where if I'd tried to do it in a weekend I'd have felt pushed toward the end and might have gotten sloppy.

I've been lookin for grilles on ebay too. Haven't been able to find any. I don't want to mod my grille incase I screw it up! I submitted a search at uneedapart.com. It searches all the junk yards in the nation.
