Speedometer cluster guage SWAP? possible?
Hi, I have a 1994 Pickup, 4x4, 5-speed. Everything is manual in the truck. The guage cluster has had the plexiglass broken, but still works. It only contains a temperature guage, fuel guage, and speedometer.
I would like to swap this out with a used 1994 speedometer guage set that includes the above but also adds a tachometer, fuel pressure, and alternator guages.
Does anyone know if this is possible and if the wire harness hookups will simply be "plug and play"?
Also, the mileage on this used guage set is close to my actual mileage, but was curious if it can be set so that I can maintain my true mileage.

Krash, did the swap. Search for his name.
You would have to get a cluster off the same year as yours.
Everything ought to be plug in play with the exception of the oil sender. You need an oil sender that will work the guage. The one on now only works for the dummy light and will not work with an actual guage.
Cuation, if you plug in the oil guage with the old oil sender unit, you will damage the oil pressure guage.
Mileage can be adjusted but I don't know how.
If you take on this task, post results and if possible, a write-up would be nice.
In March, I bought a cluster to swap it for mine and I have not proceded with it.

you may need to take caution on the odometer readings being differnt.... some places dont legally allow it... however, here in CA, if your truck is over a certain age or has over so many miles, then it doesnt matter anymore
