Since I need a new fuel filter, what other stuff should I get from an online place? PCV valve? plugs? .....

 

How many miles do you have?

 

82k, not sure what maintenance was done before me, except the belt @ 60k.

 

Couldn't hurt to check/do: plugs, fuel filter, air filter, replace fluids all the way around (tranny, diffs, x-fer case), new PCV, drain and refill coolant (I think you guys use Toyota red coolant).

I am almost finished w/ some of the 'do-able' routine maintenance items:

Done:
* Changed all the fluids: oil, 5 speed tranny, front/rear diffs, and transfer case (http://www.4runners.org/articles/difftsf)
* Spark plugs + wires

To do within the month:
* PCV and cleaning out the throttle body
* fuel filter
* grease/lube chassis
