SliderZ: Painted and Installed

Hi Guys, Just got my Badland Bumpers SLiderz Installed last weekend. Please check out the link below for Pics and brief details. Overall I spent $300 for the sliderz and $110 for the weld and some accessories. Overall, I am happy with it. The only worry I had is while it was being welded. I was afraid the heat was going through the 1/8" frame. Now, just need to test them out on the trails and test them with Hi lift. Hopefully they will hold

Few thing to add a week from now, I will get some gussets welded on for even extra support.

Very nice job. They look really cool! What paint did you use to paint them. I mean, is it like a Rustoleum or something like that and how did you paint them if you had them welded on? Just a few ?s thanks! :fireman:

Ryan, Thanks... I painted them prior to the welding. I taped the end of the legs while painting so it can ve welded really good. After welding the sliderz on, painted the weld part. It took me 4 days to paint both because I took my time. I went to Pep Boys and got some Automobile black primer. Then went to Home Depot and got some rustoleum Flat Black Paint.

Those look great Rod!
Hmmmm, where have I seen those before

The welding on the tubes, and onto your rig look great. Yes, Jeff is a great guy to work with.
Glad he was able to help you out.
Someday I'll have to get back to his place and work on my rear bumper design.

Looking forward to hear how they work out for you. Are you going to Hi-Lift test them here soon?

That is cool! I know that Rustoleum is a good paint and it will hold up very nicely for you! Let us know, like Corey said, how the hi-lift testing goes for you. I would be interested in hearing how that works out for you! Goodluck! :fireman:

The first one to slide their rock sliders on a rock get's a cookie!!

Otherwise they are just really expensive running boards which most of you had to start with.:pat:

Thanks for all the kind words. I will Hi-Lift it this maybe this weekend. My buddy will let me use his. Hopefully, it will go well and not break anything. (knock on wood) According to Jeff, Hi Liftiing it should be no problem. If it goes well, I will need to get my own Hi Lift. Yup, Rustoleum really works great. Make sure you prime it very good.

Corey, no did not cut the seam. I think it was not really necessarry. I left about 1/4" gap. Mine are not installed as close to the seam like yours. Hoping for the best.

Those RocksliderZ look great!! I can't wait til I see them in person at our Bay Area Gathering on the 13th.
Shortly after that we need to hook up and do a Hollister Hills Run!

Glad things worked out.
