OOh I feel so cool now, you should have seen the looks on the faces of the guys at the welding shop when I told them I need some rock sliders welded on. 
Can't wait to try them out this weekend. Pics here

But given that he's already selling at reduced prices on eBay, I don't know what we could expect as a discount. There's something to be said for a large count at a lower price, versus a smaller count at a higher price, but if he's a shop of one, then we don't want to flood him out!
Since you seem to have a pre-established repor with him Wild_Bill, I nominate you to approach him with the concept.
