I got them in today fellows, and man they look awesome!! Turned out the hardest part of the whole process was getting that template made, but that's what made the install so easy. The install took about three hours and couldn't have gone any better. I put them in at my girlfriend's place, so I can't post the pics right now, but I will post them when I get home in an hour or so. I plan to do a writeup on them this week, maybe tomorrow.

Yep. Wired them into the front signals. Wasn't sure which wire was which at first (pos. or neg.), but lucky guess on the first try. Green/yellow is positive and white/black is negative.

I got them from the local Volkswagen dealer. The lamps were $20 each and the harness/bulb housing was another $22 each. A little expensive, but they did turn out great!!

They look fantastic! How long did it take you to complete the install? You must be pretty proud, huh?

 

Very proud! Install took about three hours, but only because I was very meticulous about any cuts or "sanding" I made. It was really, really easy with the right template. Thanks for all of the compliments, and I agree that they do look great!

I stressed over this mod for months before finally doing it. The cutting was the easiest part, trust me. The worst part of the ordeal was making the template, but it's what made the cutting so easy. I am going to do a writeup and also trace my template onto a sheet of paper if anyone would like to do it and like a copy.

question, where did you get that THULE RACK? and how much do those run? those look really good especially with the Mill.silver. have a factory roofrack, do i have to get a whole new Thule railrider rack and bars?

 

Man they look great! I am still thinking if it's worth drilling holes in the fenders. How long did that mod take you?

I would love to do this as well on 2001 4Runner, but I'm a chicken to make put holes in the body of my brand new car

If you can post all the tools you've used, that'll be a big help for guys like me who really want to do this, but not sure how to go about the whole thing.
