Thought about LED style for my '99 4Runner, but went with a pair of 2001-2002 OEM tailights. Made a big difference, and look much better.

See pictures below.

I got lucky and got clear corners/bumpers and the LED tails for 150 shipped. That was like 4 or 5 months ago. Now they have bumped their prices up, as I can't find many that are less than $170 before shipping. Word must have gotten out about how popular they became for the 3rd gen.

I think the LEDs are slick. I think these were around $150 like others have said.

Some night shots with and without flash:

Completely unrelated to LED tail lights, but still a lot of fun:

Strobes from the front:

Here is a pic of my tail lights. Nothing special, but they look way better than stock IMO.

Really do want to get LED bulbs ... maybe for Christmas!

The total clear style looks a bit dated now but the LED versions really move the 3rd gens up almost a decade.

some ricer tail lights for ya. They're led's but looked a little ricey for me. Could care less about how they look though just as long as they function.

thanks brotha. The 4x4 is all about function but when i start the 2wd project in a couple months it'll be about comfort speed and looks. Gonna drop it [paint it and do some serious work to make it pretty. Always wanted a dropped truck and a lifted one. Best of both worlds.

joining the club- late as usual

finally got this accomplished at a price point I could justify.

Sonar brand from DT Moto-no LED bulbs yet.Found them on ebay and got them shipped at under $95 per pair.

Old style on left side of truck, then new ones on right, then the pair of new ones.

Truly plug and play-did not have to open up the back end trim panels whew...

a noticeable difference at night and a bit of bling all the time.

If you look closely you can probably see the Hopkins LED trailer plug hanging by the hitch.

Thanks guys for getting me to this point. It's so much more fun shopping for my 3rd gen.

The 2nd gen was barely supported for aftermarket goodies it seemed.

Have a safe 4th and beyond.
