+1. I heard you loose a net 1 MPG if you go with supercharger, if at all.

i just got gas today... 360 mi on 16.8 gallons of gas. tell me the SC cost me 1 MPG, i dont have to down shift to go over a pass, i just push down. You will not push the motor as hard under the same driving.

i say do it.. this is the first time iv heard any one say you loose MPG.. i have a friend whos dad put a supercharger on his tundra and he gained MPG. my other friend has been doing alot of reaserch on swapping in a s/c 3.4 into his 93 project runner and from who all he has talked to they say its the way to go. i know that the only thing id worry about is being able to keep my right foot off that skinny pedal.. the added cost of speeding tickets might be a issue with the cost of the supercharger.

I had been comtemplating a S/C on my 98. Got it from a local who had Toyota remove it for him and returned his 2000 back to stock. He said it had 60,000 miles on it when they removed it. I have since decided that I just don't have the time or resources to install this myself and all the associated tweaks and tuning so I have decided to put mine up for sale. Here is the link to the market place here at YotaTech.

I can be very reasonable on the sale with shipping depending on what I am offered.

Well, now I have a question.

1st gen supercharger verses 2nd gen.

I haven't been able to get a solid comparison through various google and site searches. From what I could gather, other than cosmetic improvements and casting every component into one instead of parts, the superchargers are pretty much physically the same.

However, most curiously, I have heard that the first gen superchargers sound like there is a can rocks rattling around in there in addition to the wonderful supercharger whine. I was wondering how noticeable/accurate that claim is. And, if there is any reason, other than looks, that I should go with a 2nd gen over a first gen?
