Shocks

Wow... I am just burning up the forum lately. Thanks to everyone that helped the the pcv valve issue. I have a new question. I am not planning on lifting my truck but one of my shocks seems to be messing up or something. My truck has a slight lean to the drivers side front. This should be corrected if i replace both shocks right? it is noticeable. When i walk towards it in a parking lot i can see the lean and how it is not even. It isn't even when i am parked on level ground or unlevel groun New shocks to correct this? or what?

I'm guessing it is probably a spring sagging on that side, not a shock issue.

Yep, definately not a shock problem....I agree on a sagging spring problem instead.

Ditto. Shock won't have an effect on ride height. It's the springs that hold the thing up off the ground!

Could that be caused by a rear spring issue? If so then I would guess he doesn't have the Downey HD Coils and his rear end is still sagging too...might as well fix it all at the same time eh?

Just to clarify, I believe he drives an older pickup, so he would have leaf springs in the rear, not coils.

Good call, I missed the "front" part.

IIRC, the 87 has torsion bars up front (1 left, 1 right). Might be out of adjustment or one of the adjuster bolts has fallen (or rusted) out.

FWIW, he would have shocks at all 4 corners, not just up front.

As mentioned by others, shocks have no effect on ride height (unless they are "air" shocks that can be pumped up).
